If you’re coming from New York City, you can take the Long Island Rail Road to Stony Brook (Port Jefferson Line) and visit Stony Brook University Campus.

The Preserve is located in the southern campus between Roth Quad and the School of Marine and Atmospheric Sciences (SoMAS). It can be easily accessed entered through pathways located along Circle Road near Roth Quad and just north of Nassau Hall near SoMAS.

Parking

On weekdays, the closest public parking (paid) is located just north of the Preserve off of Circle Road, near the Life Sciences Building. Stony Brook faculty/staff have access to parking at SoMAS, along Lake Drive (near Roth Quad), and at Tabler Quad. Parking in many student and faculty/staff lots is available Mon-Fri outside of normal business hours (7AM-4PM) and on weekends.
