The Ashley Schiff Preserve is now open! Whether you’re passionate about the environment, sustainability, or nature-inspired art and music, the scholarship is a great opportunity to get funding for your work!

This scholarship honors the memory of Dr. Ashley Schiff, an early Stony Brook Political Science professor and avid naturalist. It offers up to $1,000 to Stony Brook undergraduate (Junior/Senior) and graduate students with a commitment to environmental preservation.

Project Variety: This isn’t just for research papers! Projects in art, music, creative writing, and political science that relate to the natural environment (and possibly the campus’s Ashley Schiff Preserve) are highly encouraged.

Qualifications: You need a minimum 3.0 GPA and a strong interest in the natural environment.

Deadline: All application materials are due by Friday, November 14, 2025.
