Rest In Peace, Lee Koppelman. Koppelman served as a director of the Center for Regional Policy Studies at Stony Brook University, and had great influence on Long Island sustainability.
As one of the first planners to suggest the idea of preserving space in the interest of health and future generations, he always put balance and equity into his designs and promoted environmental sustainability on Long Island. He guided the land use, development regulations, housing and transit equity of Long Island. We still live on the legacy that he has provided and continue our education on Long Island. We will miss him.
